Trina Cooper
Founder, Emotional Intelligence Strategist
Emotional intelligence is the most under-leveraged capability in organizations and that's exactly why Trina Cooper founded Curiate Group. Her focus is helping leaders and teams build the emotional intelligence that drives better decisions, stronger trust, and more sustainable performance, especially in high-pressure, high-stakes environments.

Trina is an emotional intelligence strategist who has spent nearly 20 years inside private and public organizations primarily in energy and construction, industries where the pressure is constant, the stakes are high, and the human side of performance is routinely overlooked.

She has sat with CEOs and translated their unformed vision into realized strategy, work that required deep listening, the ability to read what wasn't being said, and the relational trust to challenge and refine ideas before they reached the rest of the organization. She has partnered with Indigenous communities to build workforce development programs and create spaces for authentic connection between organizations and the communities they operate within, work rooted in cultural humility, patience, and the kind of relational intelligence that cannot be faked. She has supported leaders and teams through mergers, divestitures, global transitions, and cross-cultural complexity.

In every one of those environments, the pattern was the same, the technical side always had a plan. The human side, the emotional and relational dynamics that determined whether people could actually execute was left to chance. Emotional intelligence isn't a soft skill that sits beside the real work. It is the real work. It transcends HR, leadership development, and any single function and it's at the centre of everything Trina does.

The Work
Trina works with senior executives, mid-level leaders, and teams to develop the emotional intelligence dimensions that underpin leadership effectiveness: self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, social awareness, and relational clarity. Her clients are typically navigating change, complexity, or high-stakes environments, the conditions where emotional intelligence is most critical and least available.

The Approach
Emotional intelligence is at the centre of every engagement. Tools like the TTI Success Insights EQ Assessment, the Acumen Capacity Index, and the Centre for Creative Leadership's 360 suite support that work, they give people a clear, honest picture of where they are so there's something real to build from. But the tools aren't the point. The point is building the EQ capability that changes how people lead, communicate, and make decisions.

Through structured assessment, guided reflection, and facilitated integration, Trina helps people see what drives their reactions, understand how they show up in relationships, and build the capacity to lead with greater intention. This isn't personal development for its own sake. It's a direct lever for decision quality, trust, retention, and performance.

The Belief
When people develop their emotional intelligence, everything around them gets better. Leaders make clearer decisions. Teams move with more trust. Organizations stop losing their best people to problems that were never really about the work. Curiate Group was built to help people and organizations invest in that capability deliberately, measurably, and with the depth it deserves.
